Deciding if college is right for you can be overwhelming and confusing. As a high school junior or senior, your probably have a lot of options in front of you. You could make more money with a college degree.

In 2013, the U.S. Bureau of Labor reported that average earnings for American workers were:

High School Dropouts – $24,544 per yearHigh School Graduates – $33,852 per yearCollege Graduates – $57,616 per year

Do some quick arithmetic and you’ll find that the average college graduate earns $23,764 more each year than the average high school graduate. In the average American life span of 77 years, the average difference in earnings per individual will be 55 x $23,764 or $1,307,020 total.


Not only could you make more money with a college degree, but you could live longer, too!

A recent study by the Department of Health and Human Services showed that Americans who earn the most have a life span five years greater than those who earn the least.

There are thousands of scholarships waiting for you to claim them! Talk to your high school guidance counselors. They investigate what financial aid colleges offer and know what scholarships you may qualify for.
